iRacing Lap Time Colors[]

In iRacing when using overlays or telemetry, such as Kapps, they come with lap time colors to signify and tell you how fast, slow or consistent you are being while out on the racetrack. They appear during any session such as races, qualifying, practice, time trials, etc. As always with lap times, they can be beaten. The colors are Purple, Green, and Black and of course, they have meaning. Note that real life racing uses Purple, Green and Yellow instead and that Purple is on top, followed by Green in the middle, and then Black is on the bottom.

Purple: Signifies that the driver has just set the fastest lap time for the session and set their own personal best lap time.

Green: Used to acknowledge the driver has set their own personal best lap time but has not beaten the fastest lap time for the session.

Black: Used to acknowledge the driver that the lap time has not beaten their personal best lap time or the fastest lap time in the session.
