1. Veer
To gently steer in one direction.
2. Victory lane
- Also 'Winner's Circle,' because of early motorsport's roots at horse racing tracks, the American term for the place where the winner of a race goes to celebrate victory after winning an event.
- 3. Victory lap
- A lap, after the conclusion of the race, where the winning racer drives at reduced speed to celebrate his or her victory.
- 4. Vortex
- In wet conditions, race cars can produce vortexes off their rear ends or wings. These vapor trails are similar to those produced by the engines of jet planes.
- 5. Vortex of Danger
- A triangle inscribed by the turn-in point of the lead car, the apex, and the inside edge of the turn indicating the spot where it is too late or too dangerous to perform a passing maneuver cleanly and safely.
