Rennsport Online[]

Rennsport Online (RSO) is a professional German SimRacing team, fighting for national and international championships. RSO was founded in January 2016 by former GTRP (Gran Turismo Racing Point) members Jörg Goebel, Stephan Jahn and Tino Heuser. Bringing together more former GTRP members, a group of 16 switched to the iRacing service from Sony Playstation's Gran Turismo. Quickly Rennsport Online could establish itself as one of Germany's most successful SimRacing teams, winning several big events such as the 24 hours of Spa-Francorchamps and 24 hours of the Nurburgring. In May 2018, Rennsport Online could three-peat its class win in iRacings 24 hours of the Nürburgring and is now the first team which could win an iRacing special event three times in a row.

Furthermore, Rennsport Online is one of the few teams which can build on legal structures. Since December 2017, RSO is an officially registred association, enabling the team to actively promote the professionalization of SimRacing.

Commitment[]

Beside its "main business" of SimRacing, Rennsport Online is well-known for its various off-track activities. In 2015 and 2016 RSO was organizing the official KTM X-Bow Battle Online, the virtual equivalent to KTM's popular racing series featuring the X-Bow. The respective series champions won real trackdays in the X-Bow on Austrias famous Red Bull Ring in Spielberg, bringing together the successful virtual racing drivers and the real motorsport scene. From 2017 on, Sim-Department is the new organizer of the X-Bow Battle Online.

Another important involvement is Rennsport Onlines professional reporting on various topics. In 2016/17 RSO featured its own column on one of Germany's most important motorsport portals: www.motorsport-magazin.com. Covering its progress in the Neo Endurance Series - Season 3, the team explained the eSports discipline of SimRacing to a broad and interested audience, gaining a lot of attention and range in the motorsports world. Furthermore, Rennsport Online was giving keynote talks, hosting discussions and contributing to the positive development of the sport during various expositions and events, such as the SimRacing EXPO at the Nurburgring, the Auto Zurich or the Zurich Game Show. Since 2018, Rennsport Online is also publishing its own Blog on the developments in SimRacing, called "Rennsport Blogline".

Rennsport Online is also one of the founding teams of the International SimRacing Federation (ISRF), which was officially founded in April 2018. The equivalent to institutions like the Federation Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA) will be structuring, organizing and managing the development of SimRacing as the core political institution.
